The President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Abia State Chapter, Dr. Chukwuemeka Okwuonu, has commended the 31st January, 2026 Prayer and Adoration Day of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
It will be recalled the apex Igbo socio- cultural group; Ohanaeze Ndigbo, in its recent IMEOBI, set aside every 31st of January as Praises and Adoration Day across all Igbo states.
The day is set aside for the Igbos to offer praises and adoration to the Almighty God for His abundant mercies and protection towards the Igbo nation despite the challenges the Igbo nation face over the years.
Okwuonu said that the mericies and protection of God on the Igbo people have been bountiful.
” This Day is worth observing. It is a day of returning praises and Adoration to God for safeguarding the Igbo people through the travails they experience in the country.
” Igbo people are discriminated against in all spheres of human endeavour but despite this they succeed in all they do.
” In the Federal Civil Servive and other federal appointments, they are shortchanged in the name of “Federal Character” but despite these negative treatments, they are on the lead, Okwuonu said.
He urged Igbo people to ensre that they obtain their voter’s card enmasse to enable them mske informed choices during the forthcoming elections.
