Osun State Commissioner For Finance, Mr Bola Oyebamiji on Friday paid a condolence/inspection visit to the Ayedaade Divisional Police Headquarters, Ikire which was attacked by dare devil armed robbers last Wednesday.

Oyebamiji who was accompanied on the visit by his wife, Chief Dr Mrs Shekinat Oyebamiji and some party chieftains of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency donated the sum of half a million naira for the immediate renovation of the police station.

The Commissioner who condoled with the Division Police Officer(DPO) of the police station on the death of four officers who were killed during the attack urged security agencies to bring the culprits to book as soon as possible.

Oyebamiji who also paid a condolence visit to the families of civilians whose lives were cut short during the attack described the robbery attack and the gruesome murder of innocent citizens as barbaric.

“This sight is shocking and very sad to behold, I can’t imagine why people will be so cruel to attack unsuspecting police officers at the police station. It’s a sad day indeed for residents of Ikire and Apomu, the entire federal constituency is in a mourning mood.

“It pains us that police officers who were drafted to our towns for our security are murdered in such manner, on behalf of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, I comminsrate with the Nigeria Police Force and the families of fallen officers.

“I can assure you that Governor Oyetola will continue to support security agencies in the state to keep our state safe and remain the most peaceful in Nigeria” The Commissioner stated.

While thanking the Commissioner for the visit, the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Samson Oke promised that his men remain undaunted despite the attack, stressing that their primary obligation of security remains paramount.
