President Bola Tinubu attended Jumat prayers on Friday at the Lekki Central Mosque in Lagos State, marking his first public appearance since last week’s prayers at the Alausa Central Mosque.

On his arrival, Tinubu was warmly received by Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat and other dignitaries, including religious leaders.

A statement by Bayo Onanuga, the president’s special adviser on information and strategy, highlighted that the Chief Imam of the Lekki Central Mosque, Ridhwan Jamiu, offered prayers for Tinubu’s success in steering Nigeria toward peace, security, and prosperity.

Addressing the congregation, Imam Jamiu expressed confidence in the president’s abilities and leadership. “We are proud of you. During the campaigns, we encouraged people to vote for you, and we thank God you have not disappointed us,” he said.

The Imam praised Tinubu’s qualities of righteousness, fairness, and justice, urging him to maintain these values in governance. “You bear the name Ahmed, which reflects praiseworthy actions. We trust that this will continue to be evident in your leadership,” he added.

The president arrived in Lagos on December 18 to celebrate the holidays following his presentation of the 2025 budget to the National Assembly.
