In Nasarawa: Meet the Target  of World Bank Grant, Dr. Akabe charge SFTAS Members

Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Dr. Emmanuel has charged members of the States’ Fiscal Transparency, Accountability and Sustainability, SFTAS Programme For Results to work relentlessly towards meeting the targets of World Bank grant for the state.
The Deputy Governor made the disclosure during a meeting with the state SFTAS committee at the Conference hall of his office in Lafia.
Dr. Emmanuel Akabe said the team is to develop a positive and result oriented attitude as well as strive towards perfection in realizing the 2021 targets set for the state to qualify for World Bank grant.
He also express displeasure to the fact that  “Nasarawa state missed out from huge amount of money that would have come to the state as grant in one of the Disbursement Linked Indicators, DLIs”, calling on them not to create a gap in addressing deficiencies, ensuring that documents are filled  ahead of deadlines.
Dr. Akabe also stressed on the need for members of the SFTAS to take full advantage of the programme for the benefit of the state, calling  for their maximum corporation and intellectual dexterity to enable the state get what it deserves and to make it one of the three top economies in the country as envisaged by Governor Abdullahi Sule.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary in the state Ministry of Finance, Emmanuel Mamman Alidzi informed the Deputy Governor that the meeting is geared towards taking stock of their activities, especially to highlight vital areas in the Disbursement Linked Indicators, DLIs that need amendments so as to enable the state get the World Bank grant for doing what is right.
Emmanuel Alidzi expressed resolve of the SFTAS team to intensify efforts to achieve the DLIs targets, just as other members stressed the need for working in synergy, update of records and having a consultant to check all documents and submissions of Nasarawa state, as the 2019 and 2020 Annual Performance Assessment, APA report were presented for further inputs.
