The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, Taraba State chapter has said insecurity is responsible for the closure of many private schools in the state.
The State Chairman Nehemiah John who is also the Director Jetters Academy made the disclosure on Monday in an interview in Jalingo.
He said that the crises ravaging the state in recent time had threatened child education, adding that schools were burnt in some communities.
The NAPPS chairman appealed to the Taraba state government to intervene to end the scourge.
Nehemiah also lamented the recruitment of unqualified teachers to teach in private schools in the state as worrisome.
He noted that such had affected academic standard, adding that 60 per cent of teachers in private schools were quacks.
The chairman urged proprietors to adopt training of unqualified teachers in their schools towards achieving efficient teaching and learning.
He also urged his colleagues in the industry to adopt modern teaching techniques as well as modernization of schools to meet up with time.
According to him, the entire educational system must be updated in lime with global best practices.
He however, confirmed that the state ministry for education was always inspecting private schools.
Nehemiah said the constant inspection had lead to the out put generate from the available private schools in the state.
