Ior Gboko Foundation felicitates with Governor Alia on 34th priestly ordination anniversary

 

The Ior Gboko Foundation (IGF), a socio-cultural non-governmental organisation, has congratulated the Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr Hyacinth Iormem Alia, on his 34th Anniversary of Priestly Ordination into the Catholic priesthood.

In a statement issued on Sunday by its President, Dr Jimmy Ajim, the IGF remarked that the milestone was a testament to Father Alia’s “dedication, devotion and selfless service to the Lord, and the good people of Benue state.”

The governor’s 34th priestly ordination anniversary was celebrated at the IBB square, in Makurdi, the state capital on Sunday with many dignitaries, including the Tor Tiv, the paramount ruler of the Tiv people, His Royal Majesty, Professor , James Ayatse, and the Och’ Idoma, the Paramount Ruler of the Idoma Nation, Agabaidu Odogbo John Elaigwu.

In the statement, made available to NATIONAL ACCORD, Dr. Ajim said: “May this special ay bring you Joy, peace and renewed spiritual strength to continue to steer the affairs of Benue State and the Church

While wishing Fr Alia “many years of fruitful ministry and service to Benue State, Nigeria and humanity,” Dr. Ajim noted that the governor’s commitment to his vocation was “a shining example of faith and dedication.”

The Ior Gboko Foundation consists of people of no denomination, religious or ethnic lines, who were born, passed through or lived in Gboko in Benue state at some point in life.

One of the major objectives of the Foundation is “to give back to Gboko and its people,” through the provision of communities services and projects in the areas of health, rural electrification and water supply.
