The reported death toll of 110 Palestinians in the northern part of Gaza since Sunday due to Israeli strikes was announced by the health ministry under Hamas control. The accuracy of this death toll could not be independently confirmed by AFP. The situation in Gaza has been marked by a significant number of casualties, displacement, and allegations of deliberate actions affecting civilians. The ongoing conflict has led to concerns about humanitarian conditions, with accusations from Human Rights Watch against the Israeli government, claiming the deliberate use of starvation as a method of warfare in Gaza. The Israeli government, in turn, has criticized HRW, characterizing it as an “anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli organization.” The broader context includes the initiation of hostilities by Hamas on October 7 and the subsequent deadly Gaza war, resulting in numerous casualties and displacements.
