Iyabo Ojo Reflects on Her Past Marriage and Personal Growth

By Daniel Edu

Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, recently opened up about her previous marriage and how her understanding of life has evolved over time. In a podcast interview with media personality Toke Makinwa, she shared that if she had the wisdom and understanding she has today, she might still be in her marriage.

Iyabo Ojo also revealed that she was not born into poverty, but her marriage ended because she was young and lacked a deeper understanding of life’s complexities.

In her own words: “I was young at the time. If I were the age I am now, I probably would not have made some of the decisions I did back then. I am wiser now and have a better grasp of life. I am more exposed and enlightened. However, during that period, I was coming from a place where I had already experienced a lot of emotional challenges as a child.”

She went on to explain her upbringing: “You know when you come from a very wealthy home but still have to fend for yourself? That’s how it was for me. I didn’t grow up living with both my mom and dad. I lived with my dad, my grandmother, and his brothers. My grandmother played the role of a mother to me, while my dad was more like a brother and a friend. He didn’t act like a typical father because he was focused on enjoying life and didn’t have much time to pay attention to me.”

Iyabo Ojo’s candid reflection highlights the personal growth and life experiences that have shaped her perspective over the years.
