Jim Iyke Opens Up About Seeking Healing for His Mother at TB Joshua’s Church

By Daniel Edu

In a recent interview with Teju Babyface on YouTube, renowned Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke, shared the reasons that led him to seek healing for his mother at the late TB Joshua’s Synagogue Church Of All Nations in 2013.

Jim Iyke revealed that it was desperation that compelled him to seek help for his mother at the church. Unfortunately, his mother, Esomugha, passed away on April 1, 2014.

This revelation comes after Jim Iyke admitted in January 2022 that he had paid fellow actor Uche Maduagwu to stage a video where he was beaten, which had gone viral in 2021. In August 2021, Iyke had physically confronted Maduagwu after he questioned the source of his wealth in a video that garnered widespread attention.

Speaking about the staged beating in an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Jim Iyke explained, “I called the man, we had an understanding, I paid very well for it, rolled out the script, called Moses in, we shot it and we’re about to release the ending of it. I’m not stupid. I will never make that kind of mistake.”

Jim Iyke revealed that the staged incident was part of a strategy to promote his movie, “Bad Comments,” which he had invested over N20 million in. He pointed out that the controversy around the video had generated significant buzz for the film.

During his conversation with Teju Babyface, Jim Iyke also discussed the financial pressures he faced from several religious leaders while seeking healing for his mother. He expressed regret for being desperate at that time and recounted how multiple men of God had extorted money from him, all in the hope that his mother would recover. He emphasized that if it was within her destiny to live, no one, not even “20 TB Joshuas,” could have prevented it.
