JUST IN: Bandits Kill 10, Abduct 6 in Niger State Attack

By Abigail Philip David

At least 10 people have been killed and six others abducted following a bandit attack on Karaga village, Bassa Ward, in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

The attack is part of a series of fresh assaults on villages in the Shiroro Across region in recent weeks.

According to sources, the heavily armed bandits wielded sophisticated weapons that outmatched those of local vigilantes attempting to defend the community.

Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants operated without resistance, indiscriminately shooting at villagers, resulting in 10 deaths and the kidnapping of six residents.

Security forces have yet to issue an official statement on the attack, while residents continue to call for urgent government intervention to curb the escalating violence in the region.
