JUST IN: President Tinubu Honoured with Chieftaincy Title in Anambra

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been bestowed with the chieftaincy title “Dike si mba Anambra” by traditional rulers representing all 179 communities in Anambra State. The honorary title, which translates to “Warrior from the Diaspora,” was conferred by the Chairman of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, Igwe Chidubem Iweka (Ogalagidi, Eze Iweka III), during a ceremony held at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka on Thursday.

The event took place during President Tinubu’s one-day working visit to Anambra State, where he commissioned several key projects completed under Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.

While presenting the title, Igwe Iweka said the recognition was a collective decision by traditional rulers across the state in appreciation of the President’s efforts in advancing national development. “We have witnessed critical infrastructure like roads linking the Second Niger Bridge and other impactful projects in our communities. We pray for continued wisdom as you lead the nation,” he said.

In his acceptance speech, President Tinubu expressed deep gratitude, describing the occasion as historic and personally significant. “Our diversity must fuel our collective prosperity. We must unite in building the Nigeria of our dreams,” he said. “I am honoured and will cherish this gesture for the rest of my life.”

The high-profile event was attended by several dignitaries including the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; governors Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Alex Otti (Abia), Peter Mbah (Enugu); and the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi.

During his visit, President Tinubu inaugurated several landmark projects, including the new State Government House, Governor’s Lodge, Solution Fun City, the Emeka Anyaoku Institute for International Studies and Diplomacy, and facilities at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka.
