Kaduna Governor Appoints Female Journalist, Eight Others

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has announced nine new appointments, including that of a veteran female journalist, as part of efforts to re-energize his administration and enhance service delivery to residents.

The appointments were disclosed in a statement signed by the Governor’s media aide, Malam Ibraheem Musa, on Sunday.

Among the new appointees is Hajiya Farida Abubakar Ahmed, named the Executive Director (Radio) of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC). Farida Ahmed is a seasoned journalist and development practitioner with an extensive career in media and public service.

Her roles have included:
– Chief Press Secretary to the First Lady of Kaduna State (2013–2015).
– Chairperson of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), KSMC Chapel (2018–2019).
– Chairperson of the National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Kaduna State (2012–2013).
– Government House correspondent for TV and radio in Kaduna (2007–2011).

Prior to her appointment, Farida served as the Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna State Maternal Accountability Mechanism (KADMAM).

Other Appointments
The Governor also appointed the following individuals:
1. Dr. James Atung Kanyip – Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs.
2. Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed – Commissioner for Finance.
3. Barde Yunana Markus – Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs.
4. Vitus Azuka Ewuzie – Senior Special Assistant, Legal Matters.
5. Francis Damina – Senior Special Assistant, Research and Documentation.
6. Hon. Victor Mathew Bobai – Senior Special Assistant, Public Affairs.
7. Abdulmutallib Isah – Senior Special Assistant, Special Duties.
8. Abdulhaleem Ishaq Ringim – Special Assistant, Economic Matters.

Governor Sani congratulated the appointees and urged them to utilize their skills to uplift the lives of the poor, vulnerable, and underserved populations in Kaduna State.

“They must deploy their expertise to help the administration accelerate governance and leave a legacy of inclusive development,” the Governor stated.

All appointments are effective immediately.
