Kaduna Governor in UK over undisclosed illness

Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-rufai’s state of health condition still remain a serious cause of concern as the Governor has been reportedly flown from Germany to UK in search of cure for an undisclosed illness.


Sources revealed that he was flown to UK when his health condition did not improved after weeks of treatment in Germany his first country of destination.

While in UK, the Governor also reportedly met with Kaduna state students on scholarship studying in the country.


The Governor was reportedly flown abroad for treatment of undisclosed disease about two weeks ago.


His deputy, Haj. Hadiza Balarabe has continued acting on his behalf for over two weeks now.


The Media officer of the Governor Mall. ibrahim Musa however could not respond when contacted for comments on the development.

However report by some sources says he is down with are rare form of hiccups.

Hiccups according to a medical expert are brief and involuntary contractions of the diaphragm muscle. As the muscle contracts repeatedly, the opening between the vocal cords snaps shut to check the inflow of air and makes the hiccups sound.

“Irritation of the nerves that extend from the neck to the chest can cause hiccups. Many conditions can cause this irritation and result in hiccups, including eating too fast and swallowing air, chewing gum, smoking, eating or drinking too much, strokes, brain tumors, damage to the vagus or phrenic nerve, some medications, noxious fumes, anxiety and stress.


On whether Hiccups are Serious disease, research revealed that “Hiccups are rarely a cause for concern, but if hiccups become frequent, chronic, and persistent (lasting more than 3 hours), if they affect sleeping patterns, interfere with eating, cause reflux of food or vomiting, occur with severe abdominal pain, fever, shortness of breath, spitting up blood, or feeling as if the throat is going to close up it can be disruptive.
