Kaduna Governor Presents Land Certificates to NAF Chief for Housing Scheme

On Monday, Kaduna State Governor Senator Uba Sani presented Certificates of Occupancy to Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), for lands allocated to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) for its Post Service Housing Scheme at New Millennium City.

Governor Sani made the presentation during a visit to the NAF Headquarters in Abuja, praising the CAS for his exceptional performance and efforts in transforming the Force into an “agile and resilient force.”

Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, released a statement noting the governor’s commendation of NAF’s role in Operation Whirl Punch, which has significantly reduced terrorist and criminal activities.

Governor Sani also applauded Air Marshal Abubakar for upgrading the 271 NAF Detachment at Birnin Gwari to a Wing status, now known as 4135 NAF Wing, Birnin Gwari. Additionally, the governor announced the allocation of 10 operational vehicles to NAF to enhance its ongoing operations.

“The Nigerian Air Force is a vital partner in ensuring the safety and security of Kaduna State. We are committed to providing the necessary support and resources to enable the NAF to effectively carry out its mandate and secure our communities,” Governor Sani stated.

Air Marshal Abubakar expressed gratitude for the governor’s support and commitment, assuring that the land would be used to benefit NAF personnel. He also highlighted efforts to enhance operations through new landing and navigational aids at the Military Airport in Kaduna, which would increase flight frequency and improve ongoing operations.

The presentation of the Certificates of Occupancy marks a significant milestone in the collaboration between the Kaduna State Government and the Nigerian Air Force, aimed at addressing security challenges in the state and nation.

In October 2023, the Kaduna State Government approved the allocation of 88.840 hectares of land, divided into 44.894 hectares and 43.746 hectares, at the newly developed Kaduna Millennium City. These lands will be used partly for a new NAF Base and primarily for the construction of Post Service Housing Schemes for NAF personnel.
