Sen. Uba Sani, representing Kaduna Central in the Senate, and 2023 governorship aspirant, on Wednesday donated a car to the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council.
Sani, represented by his Chief Zonal Constituency Officer, Abubakar Rabiu, said the car (Saloon) was meant to enhance mobility of the Council in ensuring delivery of their mandate of gathering and disseminating information to the public.
He said the gesture of providing mobility for the NUJ Kaduna Council was borne out of the long relationship he had with journalists.
“We felt the donation is our own way of contributing to help effective and prompt information dissemination by the Council, and organising the affairs of the public through enlightenment to know the actualities going on in governance in Kaduna,” hi said
Sani noted that the donation was also aimed at motivating women considering the Kaduna Council having a female as the first Chairman piloting the affairs of the council.
“Like you all know, i and the governor of Kaduna State, always want to see females holding offices in Government and piloting the affairs of strategic places in the society.
“We are very passionate about the media, and that inform our idea of the donation, having making all possibilities to attend to media engagements when invited.
“The donation is only coinciding with the 59 cars we donated two days ago for our campaigns, we are actually passionate about progress of Journalists, and this is not our first time of contributing in one way or the other for their success,” Sani said.
Receiving the car key and particulars of the car, the Chairman, NUJ Kaduna Council, Hajiya Asma’u Halilu, thanked the Senator for the kind gesture.
She said having the car as vehicle for the Council was an achievement and it would go along way in easing their mobility and jobs.
“We came at a time where the council has no vehicle and today by Allah’s grace Senator Uba Sani has given us one,”Halilu said.
She prayed God to assist the Senator to achieve his goals and give him the heart to continue delivering positively to his constituents and the needy in general.
