Kaduna IPAC Inaugurates Steering Committees

By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) of Nigeria in Kaduna State inaugurated its steering committees over the weekend.

The ceremony took place during the IPAC General Assembly meeting at Bafra Hotel in Kaduna.

In his inaugural address, IPAC Chairman Hon. Ahmad Tijjani Mustapha described IPAC as the umbrella organization for all registered political parties in Nigeria, with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as a member.

He explained that IPAC plays a crucial role in Nigeria’s democratic landscape by embodying the collaborative spirit of all registered political parties in the country.

“IPAC is established to facilitate dialogue, protect the interests of political entities, and uphold the principles of transparency and fairness in our electoral process,” Mustapha said.

He noted that the General Assembly included elected executives of IPAC Kaduna State and representatives from the 19 political parties.

“IPAC holds a vital position in ensuring the vibrancy and credibility of Nigeria’s democracy and good governance, serving as a custodian of democratic ideals, norms, and as a beacon of democracy,” he added.

Mustapha highlighted achievements during their tenure, including the establishment of a bank account for IPAC, which had been lacking for the past five years. Additionally, they successfully formed steering committees, addressing a gap that had persisted for another five years.

“We were elected and sworn in on February 5, 2024. In our seven months of stewardship, we have fostered a sense of belonging and direction for IPAC. We are proud to inaugurate the steering committees today, reflecting our commitment to good governance and accountability in the political landscape,” Mustapha concluded.
