Kaduna PDP holds state congress, speaks on aborted adoption plans

Kaduna- state opposition people’s  Democratic party, PDP, on Saturday held her long awaited state congress election, adjudged to be peaceful.
During the congress held  at kaduna international trade Fair Complex, Hon. Gideon Goni, members representative Saga federal house constituency in house of reps and a party topshot Hon’ Jibril Lawal Tafida cleared the air doubt about  the pre planned adoption of unanimous candidate which almost teared the party parts. Hon. Goni, who is the minority whip, house of representative, said ,the emergence of opposition Candidates for position of Chairman and other offices demonstrated that the issue of adoption had been overtaken by event. 
He also said that adoption which arose earlier was no longer there given the fact that the election is keenly contested with opposition and unopposed Candidates that would guaranteed free contest that would lead emergence of Independent candidates of choice of the electorates.According him the core essence is to unit the members of the party so that any candidate who emerged would support the party overwhelmingly toward Victory in 2023.Hon. Jibril Lawal Tafida, also in an interview, was blunt and differ, saying sthat their was a disagreement against outgoing Chairman Hassan Hyet  by the members, mosti the youth, not to recontest after loosing Governorship election in 2019.The anger , he said was that while should someone who lost election in 2019 should recontest party Chairmanship election moreso that age is not on his side. Both of the commended the peaceful conduct of the state congress election and expressd hope that would be overwhelming support from LL member that enable emerged Victory in the next dispensstion. Personalities presents includes former Governors of Kaduna state, senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, Ramalam Yero, immediate past Governorship candidate Hon. Isa Ashiru,  among others.However , Senatior Suleiman Hunkuyi, former Governor and vice president Arc.Namadi Sambo and others were conspicuously absent.Results of the election ended in night was yet to be announced at the time of filing this report.
