Kaduna: WHO, JAP, SPHCB Take Polio Vaccination to FRSC Checkpoints

By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

In a bid to eliminate zero-dose cases of polio immunization, the Journalists Initiative on Polio Immunization (JAP), in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Kaduna State Primary Healthcare Board, has conducted a street-level vaccination campaign at FRSC checkpoints in Kaduna.

The team visited Mando Roundabout, where they met travelers and vaccinated children under age five—many of whom were receiving the polio vaccine for the first time.

One of the beneficiaries, Hajiya Habiba Baba Tanko from Udawa village in Birnin Gwari LGA, said her two-year-old daughter had never been vaccinated until the campaign. She praised the team for enlightening her on the importance of polio immunization.

Another traveler, identified as Comrade A. Hamza, commended the professionalism of the health team and urged parents to reject myths and ensure their children are vaccinated.
