Kaine Edike: Pioneering Authority in Risk Advisory and Climate Change

Kaine Edike, the 38-year-old Managing Consultant of AquaEarth Consulting, is a trailblazer in Nigeria’s environmental and climate change sector. His visionary leadership has significantly influenced the country’s environmental landscape since 2010, through bold initiatives in risk advisory and sustainability.

Before taking the helm at AquaEarth, Kaine held pivotal roles, including Senior Manager – ESG & Climate Change Risk Advisory at Deloitte and Service Line Manager at Fugro NV. Over the past 15 years, he has led and de-risked more than 100 projects and operations across the Upstream Energy, Infrastructure, and Utilities Value Chain.

Kaine’s professional footprint extends beyond Nigeria to several countries in West and East Africa, South Africa, and includes collaborations in Europe, the USA, and the Middle East.

Born in Delta State, Edike founded AquaEarth Consulting in 2014, a professional risk advisory firm specializing in Earth, Water, Environment, and Climate Change consultancy. The firm commenced full operations in 2016 and has since grown to over 40 employees with offices in Lagos, Abuja, Delta, and Port Harcourt.

AquaEarth has established itself as a leader in risk advisory services, with an impressive client portfolio that includes NNPC E&P Limited, InfraCredit, Sahara Group, Shell, Aradel Group, MTN Nigeria, Rack Centre, Equinix, Platform Petroleum, Airtel Nigeria, Olam Group, KFW German Bank, Benin Disco, ECOWAS, APM Terminals, and the Ekiti State Government, among others.

Beyond his role at AquaEarth, Kaine is also a dynamic entrepreneur. He is the founder and board member of several business ventures, including Afriva Limited (health & pharma), Ethiope AgroChain (agriculture & food packaging), and the Akashiede Foundation, a non-governmental organization focused on community development.

Since founding AquaEarth, Kaine has championed innovative approaches to carbon emissions reduction and has been instrumental in promoting net-zero transition strategies within Nigeria’s environmental sector. His comprehensive risk advisory structures and forward-thinking concepts continue to set industry standards, solidifying his position as an authority in environmental risk management and climate change consultancy.
