Hon. Shehu emphasized the essence of Eid-El-Kabir, reminding the Muslim faithful that the festival is centered on submission to the will of Allah through faith and sacrifice.
“I pray to the Almighty Allah to accept our worship and sacrifices, and to shower His abundant blessings of good health, wisdom, and prosperity upon us,” he stated. He urged the community to reflect on the significant lessons of the festival, known as the festival of sacrifice.
Highlighting the virtues exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.), the Chairman called on Muslims to embrace love, obedience, and sacrifice. “Eid-El-Kabir teaches us about the virtues of love, obedience, and sacrifice. Let us use this occasion to foster harmonious co-existence through forgiveness and assisting the less privileged,” Hon. Shehu urged. He also encouraged the community to strengthen their devotion and commitment to the will of Allah.
The Chairman further appealed to the Muslim faithful to eschew any form of unlawful behavior that could disrupt the relative peace enjoyed in the area and the state at large.
“We must remain resolute and committed to maintaining peace and unity in our community,” he stressed. He expressed his appreciation for the support he has received from the citizens in his efforts to steer the affairs of the Council.
Hon. Shehu also used the occasion to commend the citizens for their steadfast support and urged them to continue praying and supporting the leadership of Nasarawa State.
“I appeal to all and sundry to sustain the tempo of support and continue to pray for His Excellency, Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule, Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, and all our leaders to succeed,” he said. He assured the citizens that the government is committed to addressing their challenges, especially in these trying times.
The Chairman further reassured the citizens of Keffi Local Government of his administration’s dedication to their welfare. “The government will continue to put its best efforts forward to alleviate the plight of our citizens, particularly during this period of temporary hardship,” He encouraged the community to stay united and resilient in the face of challenges.
