Kogi: Group Honor Chief Dr. Olufemi as Doyen of Philanthropy and Unity

In a remarkable recognition of humanitarian service and efforts toward fostering unity, the Kogi East Youth Elites have conferred the prestigious title of “Doyen of Philanthropism and Unity” on Chief Dr. Olufemi Smith Johnson.

The award ceremony, which brought together youth leaders and distinguished personalities, celebrated Dr. Johnson’s outstanding contributions to youth empowerment and his commitment to national cohesion.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Alhaji Abdulmumuni Iyabe, the spokesperson on Tuesday, emphasized that the honor was in appreciation of Dr. Johnson’s unwavering support for young people across Kogi State and beyond. He noted that despite not being a native of the region, Dr. Johnson’s acts of kindness have had a profound impact on many, making him a rare figure deserving of such commendation.

“The testimonies we hear from our brothers about his generosity and support are mind-blowing. It is not common to see someone who, despite not coming from our axis, continues to make such meaningful contributions to our youth. This is a true demonstration of a detribalized heart, and it aligns with our goal of promoting unity and progress in Nigeria,” Iyabe stated.

Meanwhile the group, having consistently advocated for unity and development across all sectors, recently honored Governor Usman Ododo in recognition of his remarkable achievements in his first year in office. They reiterated that there mission remains steadfast to celebrate and encourage individuals whose actions contribute to the collective good of society.

In his acceptance speech, Chief Dr. Olufemi Smith Johnson expressed deep appreciation for the recognition, describing it as both a privilege and a divine opportunity to serve humanity.

He said; “I consider whatever I do as a privilege bestowed by God. To me, the essence of life is living for humanity, and I will continue to do so as long as I live, by God’s grace.”

He further assured the group of his continued collaboration in initiatives that promote progress and development, reiterating his dedication to the betterment of society.
