The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied claims of a clash between Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, and Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, regarding the 2027 governorship race.
No Conflict in APC
Seye Oladejo, the Lagos APC Publicity Secretary, dismissed the allegations, attributing them to opposition tactics aimed at stirring unnecessary controversy. He emphasized that the party has not made any declarations concerning the 2027 elections, as its focus remains on governance and the 2025 local government elections.
“This is the time for impactful governance, not needless politicking to heat the polity,” Oladejo stated.
Opposition Accused of Stirring Controversy
Oladejo highlighted that rumors of endorsements for Seyi Tinubu are external attempts to disrupt party unity. He assured members that the APC is focused on progress and cohesion rather than premature political speculations.
PDP Denies Involvement
The Lagos Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman, Philip Aivoji, also distanced the PDP from the rumors, emphasizing that the party had no role in the speculations surrounding the APC.
This clarification comes as speculation over the 2027 Lagos governorship race gains traction, but the APC leadership insists its priority remains governance and party stability.
