In Lagos State, residents were seen lining up to buy bags of rice offered at the rate of N10,000 by the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS). The NCS, headed by Comptroller General Adewale Adeniyi, announced the commencement of the distribution of seized food items, with rice packaged in 25kg bags for the specified price. Adeniyi clarified that customs officials would not be involved in the sales process. The initiative aims to reach various groups, including artisans, teachers, nurses, religious bodies, and other individuals within the NCS operational areas. Adeniyi stressed transparency and accountability, cautioning against the resale of the distributed food items.
