Lagos State Government Demolishes OPM Free Schools, Sparks Outrage

By Abigail Philip David

The Lagos State Government has come under fire following the demolition of the Omega Power Ministries (OPM) free schools, igniting widespread controversy and public backlash.

TVC News reported that the church authorities are considering legal action against the state government over the demolition. Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, founder of OPM, expressed deep disappointment during an interview, stating that the land was lawfully acquired. He presented legal documents to prove the church’s ownership of the property.

Despite this, reports indicate that government officials proceeded with the demolition, allegedly showing indifference to the church’s claims.

The incident has triggered a wave of reactions on social media, with many Nigerians condemning the government’s actions and calling for compensation to be paid to the church.

As public criticism grows, the Lagos State Government has yet to release an official statement addressing the demolition.
