Lara George Criticizes Pastor Enenche’s Apology

By Daniel Edu

Nigerian gospel singer Lara George has taken issue with Pastor Paul Enenche of Dunamis Church over his apology to Vera Anyim, who testified about her academic achievements, including obtaining a “B.Sc Law” from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

During her testimony, Anyim mentioned her degree, but Enenche interrupted, questioning the validity of her claim.

Following the controversy sparked by Enenche’s interruption, he issued an apology through his Personal Assistant, Sylvester Edoh, stating that he did not intend to disgrace Anyim.

However, Lara George expressed dissatisfaction with the apology, asserting that it left room for doubt and was not sufficient. She called on Enenche to apologize to Anyim properly and unequivocally, emphasizing the need for humility in addressing the situation.

George criticized the assumption underlying Enenche’s interruption, highlighting societal issues that contribute to individuals’ manner of speaking and urging Enenche to consider his role in shaping society’s conditions.

She emphasized the importance of treating others with respect and dignity, regardless of their background, and urged Enenche to reflect on his actions and the impact of his words on others.

George concluded by asserting that true character is revealed in how one treats those deemed less significant, urging Enenche to offer a sincere and unambiguous apology to Anyim.
