Late Nigerian Singer MohBad’s Partner Reveals His Struggles

By  Milcah  Tanimu

On the 13th of September 2023, heartbreaking news emerged surrounding the late Nigerian artiste, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, widely known as MohBad. His partner, identified as Wunmi, has opened up about the singer’s tumultuous journey leading up to his untimely demise.

Wunmi, who took to her Instagram handle @c33why, shared a poignant picture of their five-month-old baby, Liam, and revealed that MohBad had “struggled till death.” She painted a somber picture of his life, stating that he was never “happy for a whole day.”

In a series of emotional posts on her Insta story, Wunmi disclosed that the late artiste had been unjustly labeled a “junkie” and faced constant struggles and fears. She believes that these labels were imposed to manipulate public perception.

She described the challenges he faced, saying, “This Nigga struggled till death, too many pains, threatening (sic). He had always lived with fears, continuous fights everywhere he goes too, he has never been happy for a whole day… he was called a junkie, a mad person, mental issue so the public would have another view about him… he’s dead, at least you all won, take your trophy.”

Wunmi shared the deep concern MohBad had for his family, especially after the birth of their son. She recalled his words urging her to prioritize their child’s safety: “Nothing makes him happy no more, even after seeing his baby he became more worried, he’s now a family man he doesn’t want anything to happen to us… I was supposed to collect my baby’s passport yesterday so we could process our traveling; he always says to me… Wunmi, please go for my baby’s sake, I wouldn’t want these people to harm you and him, it will break me… You just go, let me face them myself. Ilerioluwa rest in peace… You really need that peace.”

This tragic revelation follows MohBad’s passing at the age of 27 on September 12, 2023. His management also released an official statement confirming his untimely demise, stating, “It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing of Promise Oladimeji Aloba PK/A MohBad (Imole) today, the 12th of September, 2023… Imole is finally at Peace.” The family requested privacy during this challenging time as they mourn the loss of their beloved Imole.
