Leadway Assurance, Ecobank Launch Strategic Partnership to Provide Integrated Insurance Services

Leadway Assurance Company Limited has partnered with Ecobank Nigeria Limited in a strategic bancassurance alliance aimed at offering customised insurance solutions to a wide range of Ecobank stakeholders, including employees, customers, and small business owners.

Launched on August 1, 2025, the collaboration seeks to boost financial inclusion by embedding access to insurance products within routine banking services. Through this initiative, Ecobank customers can now access Leadway’s comprehensive suite of insurance offerings — including life, health, motor, and home insurance — directly through the bank’s platforms.

The partnership is also designed to raise insurance awareness and drive adoption through product education initiatives. These will be implemented across various customer engagement channels such as physical Ecobank branches, mobile banking platforms, and direct customer touchpoints.

Commenting on the development, Kikelomo Fischer, Director of Sales, Retail and Partnerships at Leadway Assurance, said:

“This collaboration is about making insurance simple, accessible, and part of everyday life. By leveraging Ecobank’s extensive network, we’re bringing protection closer to people — exactly when and where they need it.”

She added that the partnership is a deliberate move to bridge the insurance gap in Nigeria, combining Leadway’s customer-focused solutions with Ecobank’s expansive reach to increase insurance penetration.

Also speaking on the initiative, Adeola Ogunyemi, Head of Distribution Channels and Sales for Consumer & Commercial Banking at Ecobank Nigeria, described the collaboration as a strategic step toward building a one-stop hub for comprehensive financial services.

“We are thrilled to partner with Leadway Assurance to offer our customers the convenience of tailored insurance solutions alongside their regular banking needs.”

The nationwide rollout will begin in select Ecobank branches, where trained product champions will guide customers through policy options. Available insurance products will include Leadway’s Group Life Cover, Personal Accident Insurance, and Term Life plans — particularly beneficial to both Ecobank staff and retail customers.

This partnership reflects a growing trend in Nigeria’s financial services sector, where institutions are joining forces to simplify access to essential financial tools and strengthen customer value.
