The founder of iReign Christian Ministry, Feyi Daniels, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by an Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence court for raping a church member while purportedly “speaking in tongues” at his Lekki residence.
The trial judge, Rahman Oshodi, found the Lagos-based cleric guilty of rape and sexual assault of a female worshipper in his church in 2020. The victim, who had been summoned from Ilorin to the Lagos church, detailed the incident, citing punishment for not attending a meeting.
In addition to the legal proceedings, Daniels, who continued as pastor during the trial, made several predictions during the 2023 presidential elections, all of which proved to be inaccurate:
1. Tinubu’s Arrest: Daniels predicted that Bola Tinubu would be declared Nigeria’s president-elect but arrested by the military shortly after inauguration. As of now, Tinubu remains the president.
2. Wike’s Arrest: Feyi Daniels forecasted the arrest of Nyesom Wike, former Governor of Rivers State, before the 2023 elections. Instead, Wike was appointed the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
3. Fubara’s Election Defeat: The pastor predicted the defeat of Siminalayi Fubara, the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in the 2023 elections. Contrary to the prophecy, Fubara won the election, successfully defending his victory in appeals and securing affirmation by the Supreme Court on January 25th.
