Live Updates: Liberian Presidential Election Results Collation

Liberia, October 10, 2023 – The Liberian Presidential Election took place on Tuesday, and as of now, officials from the Liberian National Election Commission (NEC) are diligently collating the election results.

Here’s a quick overview of the election process:

– A total of 46 political parties participated in the election.
– There are 2,471,617 registered voters across the nation.
– The election spanned 2,080 voting precincts, encompassing 5,890 voting places (similar to the Nigerian term “polling units”).

The election procedures were as follows:

1. Manual accreditation was conducted using hard-copy registers.
2. Voters engaged in manual paper balloting and casting their votes.
3. Results were transmitted manually and delivered directly from the voting places to the national tally center.
4. Manual collation and tallying are ongoing at the tally center.
