Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has Implored citizens of the state to look beyond partisan politics in protecting the state from external forces.
The Governor who stated this at the Government House Makurdi on Wednesday while swearing in two new Special Advisers, Mr Anthony Ibu and Simon Namkwagh , reiterated the determination of his administration to execute its core obligations including security of lives and property, improvement in the welfare of the people despite global economy and social challenges.
Gov Ortom who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Engr Benson Abounu described Benue Sons and Daughters as stakeholders in the Benue project. He sued for unity and cooperation from the people for self preservation and building of a better future for children yet unborn.
The Governor explained that the appointments were necessary in order to give each geopolitical zone a sense of belonging for faster development.
Governor Ortom congratulated the appointees for opportunity to make use of their experiences and contribute their quota for the smooth running of Government’s policies and programs.
In his remarks on behalf of the appointees, Mr Anthony Ibu who appreciated Governor Ortom for the opportunity to be of service to the state, pledged that they would serve with the fear of God.
