Lovers Found Dead Inside Ondo Apartment

The Ondo State Police Command has launched an investigation into the deaths of a man and his girlfriend in Ondo town, Ondo State.

The middle-aged man, identified as Eric, and his unidentified girlfriend were discovered dead in a new apartment in the Ayeyemi area on Thursday. The couple’s lifeless bodies were found in a sexual position, suggesting they were engaged in intercourse at the time of their deaths. Although they were later separated by a doctor, both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The exact cause of their deaths remains unclear. However, a source speculated that the couple might have been electrocuted during their intimate encounter. The source, who wished to remain anonymous, noted that a generator was running on the premises and a phone was charging on a socket placed on the bed. It is suspected that they may have come into contact with a live wire.

Another source revealed that the couple’s bodies were discovered by relatives who became concerned after they failed to answer phone calls the next day. Peering through a window, the relatives saw the bodies and broke down the door to gain entry.

State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the incident, stating, “The man and the woman were lovers known to both families. They died in the room, but they were not stuck together. We have yet to determine the cause, but an investigation has commenced.”
