Malicious Attempt To Disenfranchise And Disqualify Abba Ganduje

By Kabiru Inuwa Hayinhago

It is obvious that Hon. Jobe’s camp is in total disarray. And, from all indications no amount of prodding can breathe life into their veins to be able to respond to simple political calculation.

It has dawned on Hon. Jobe and his cohorts that their days in arena of politics are numbered and any attempt at revival is tantamount to flogging a dead horse.

Therefore, the combination of perceived failure, desperation, a sense of doom and a shameless desire to bury his distant and recent political failure and coupled with a futile mission of concealing his stockpile of blunders has compelled him to resort to cheap blackmail in a style that befits touts and vagabonds who have no stake in their future let alone the future of others.

Because of his decreasing popularity among the electorate and the pent-up fury due to his stark underperformance, Hon. Jobe has started using a divisive polarization of indigene-settler dichotomy to disenfranchise and disqualify Hon. Abba Ganduje by labelling him a non-indigene of Dawakin Tofa.

Hon. Jobe’s camp goes further to shoot itself in the foot by making it clear that even if Hon Abba Ganduje wins the election they will deploy the might of law to dispossess him of his victory. What a crass miscalculation! Looking at how Hon. Jobe and his foot soldiers have risen in hysteria even before the commencement of the feverish countdown to the D-day of elections because the symptoms of getting the boot at the polls are apparent.

One important, thought-provoking question which members of this constituency ( Dawakin Tofa, Tofa and Rimin Gado) should be asking is that, “why is Hon. Jobe, in spite of his incumbency, excessively disturbed?” This is not his first nor second tenure, yet he has lost his composure at the prospect of possibly losing to a newcomer whose lifestyle is a personification of compassion, whose sojourn as a staff in the House of Representatives has filled him with a resolve to better the living standards of his people in all the ramifications.

For the attention of Hon. Jobe and his disordered camp as well as any other person who is utterly governed by whim and caprice to wake up from their slumber and selective amnesia to appreciate the fact that the statutory preconditions that make us Nigerians are enshrined in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and any attempt to distort any portion or this sacred text will invite the wrath of the law on one hand and the collective outcry and outrage of the law-abiding citizenry on the other hand.

Finally, it is with humility and the best of intention that I encourage Hon. Jobe and his cohorts, cronies and foo tsoldiers to either go back to the class on a full time or part time basis in order for them to be schooled once again for them to appreciate the workings of our constitution.

As for Dawakin Tofa, Tofa and Rimin Gado, the emergence of Hon. Abba Ganduje as the APC candidate for the Federal House of Representatives is a breath of new life, an easterly cloud that will pour a rain of relief come 2023 by the grace of Allah!
