Man, 42, docked for allegedly stealing property valued N127, 000

Badagry (Lagos State), Feb. 27, 2020  A 42-year-old man, Mutiu Oladejo, was on Thursday docked at a Badagry Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State over alleged stealing of property valued N127, 000.

Oladejo, whose address is unknown, is facing a two-count charge of stealing and breaking and entry.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the offences.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Ayodele Adeosun, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Feb. 2, at10 p.m. at Bakery area of Seme Border, Badagry, Lagos.

Adeosun alleged that the defendant broke the entrance padlock to the house of Mrs Tracy Nuwaide with intent to steal.

“The defendant stole one Elepac generator valued N85, 000; one gas cylinder valued N9, 000; and one Samsung Television valued N33, 000.

“The total sum of the property stolen is N127, 000, property of the complainant.

“The offences contravene Sections 308 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015,” the prosecutor said.

The Magistrate, Mr Segun Aka-Bashorun, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

Aka-Bashorun adjourned the case until April 4 for mention.
