Man kills grandfather, uncle for money ritual in Ibadan

A middle-aged man, identified as Alfa Ahmed, has reportedly killed his grandfather and uncle in Ibadan, Oyo State, in an alleged money ritual incident.

The tragic event occurred on Sunday evening at the back of a popular market in Apete, within the Ido Local Government Area of the state. According to investigations by *The Press*, the suspect took advantage of his visually impaired grandfather and his uncle, who was also unwell at the time of the attack.

An eyewitness recounted, “Alfa Ahmed exploited his grandfather’s blindness, and his uncle was also sick when the incident happened.”

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the suspect’s motive was to use parts of their bodies for a money ritual. Another source revealed that the victims lived with the suspect, and the incident occurred between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., sparking tension in the area. Concerned residents immediately alerted the police.

The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the incident and stated that investigations are ongoing. “Investigations have commenced into the matter. Updates will be provided accordingly,” Osifeso said.
