Mark Angel Reflects on 2024: “The Hardest Year of My Life, I Lost $3.7M in Forex”

Renowned Nigerian content creator Mark Angel has opened up about enduring a harrowing 2024, marked by a massive $3.7 million loss in forex trading, crippling debt, and personal challenges that tested his resilience.

In an emotional Instagram post on Sunday, Mark Angel recounted how the financial loss plunged him into one of the darkest periods of his life. Loan sharks claimed his properties, and the mounting pressure left him feeling hopeless.

“The year 2024 began like any other, but I had no idea how much it would test and break me—only to reshape me,” he wrote. “I trusted the wrong hands in forex and lost over $3.7 million. Nobody knew except my family and closest circle. The weight of the debt was suffocating. I watched all my properties slip away, and in my darkest moments, I even considered ending it all.”

Mark also revealed how he sought therapy to recover from the trauma, only to face another setback—a scandal that rocked his career and exposed disloyalty within his circle. Despite the pain, he found solace in faith, family, and close friends, who supported him through the storm.

“God sent angels into my life when I needed them the most,” he shared. “Blessing, my friend who became family, never gave up on me. My pastor and his wife prayed and guided me. My daughters, Victoria and Mila, reminded me of life’s beauty. My ex-wife Mandy extended a hand of kindness I will never forget. My son, Schoolboy, showed me strength beyond his years. And Bright, my social media assistant, stood as a pillar when I thought I’d collapse.”

Reflecting on the lessons learned, Mark described how the tumultuous year brought him closer to God and taught him resilience, faith, and the power of grace.

“2024 was the hardest year of my life, but it was also the year God drew me closer to Him. Through the ashes, He taught me resilience, faith, and the true meaning of grace. His light never stopped shining, even in my darkest valleys.”

Mark ended his message with gratitude to everyone who stood by him and a renewed sense of hope for the future.
