The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D., has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Muslims across the country as they celebrate Eid-el-Maulud, which commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
In his message, Speaker Abbas called on Muslims to offer prayers for Nigeria and its leaders, noting the nation’s need for divine guidance during this critical period. He urged Islamic faithful to seek divine intervention for the country’s political, religious, and traditional leadership, emphasizing that such prayers are crucial for national progress.
Describing Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a symbol of peace and unity, Speaker Abbas encouraged Muslims to adopt the Prophet’s teachings, which emphasize godliness, respect for authority, and selflessness. He also reminded them of the importance of being their brother’s keepers, as exemplified by the Prophet.
Speaker Abbas further called on Nigerians to use the occasion of Maulud to recommit themselves to the task of nation-building. He urged all citizens to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and contribute to the nation’s peace and prosperity.
The Speaker reassured Nigerians of the 10th National Assembly’s commitment, particularly under his leadership in the House of Representatives, to advancing initiatives and policies aimed at fostering peace and development in the country.
Speaker Abbas wished the Muslim Ummah a joyful and peaceful celebration.
