Mikang Council boss Flags Off Road Construction

Transition Committee Chairman of Mikang Local Government Council of Plateau state , Hon. Daniel Kungmi has flagged off the construction of a 3 km Lalin-Gabet rural road

Hon Kungmi while while speaking during the flag-off ceremony, called on the host community to support the administration of Governor Caleb Mutfwang, who is poised to give rural communities a new lease of life.

He said his administration was ready to collaborate with agencies in bringing development to the council area, noting that the council had embarked on various projects

Our correspondent reports that the rural road which is being implemented under the Plateau State FADAMA NG-CARES Coordination Office, is a collaboration between between Mikang Local government council and FADAMA Plateau State office.

The Council Boss who was represented by the Director, works of Mikang Local Government Engr. Athenecus Faunter, said the NG-CARES project has the mandate to execute only three (3)KM rural roads, however, the council having seen the significance of opening access to rural communities, has approved the execution of a box culvert to link up the benefitting community ,and additional kilometers to reached the community.

He further added that the council has concluded plans to construct additional 3 rural roads across the four districts of the local government to ease the transportation of farm produces by farms to the market.

Speaking at the event, the Long Lalin, Twangshik Yitni, thanked the state Governor, Bar. Caleb Mutfwang, for considering the rural community to benefit in the series of developmental projects earmarked by his administration and call for more of such government interventions.

The contractor handling the project, Engr. Pam Dalyop of Midal Global Construction Nig Ltd, called for corporation from the host community and promised to use the Locals as labourers on site.
