Minister of Defence Declares End to Banditry in Northwest

By Muhammad Ibrahim, Sokoto

The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Muhammad Matawalle, has directed the Chief of Defence Staff and other military chiefs to relocate to Sokoto, the headquarters of the GOC Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, and Kebbi states.

This move aims to eradicate the menace of banditry in this region of the country.

For decades, banditry has crippled the economy and social well-being of the people in this zone.

This directive is part of an intensified effort by the Federal Government to rid the Northwest of banditry, kidnapping, terrorism, and other vices plaguing the states.
