Mohbad Associate, Primeboy, Denies Police Invitation Prior to Being Declared Wanted

Primeboy, the close friend of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, has disputed claims that the Lagos State Police Command had invited him before declaring him wanted on Tuesday.

Primeboy, who was wanted for allegedly failing to respond to a police invitation regarding the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death, spoke with TVC, a private television station, before voluntarily surrendering to the police on Wednesday. He asserted that he had never received any police invitation and explained that he had tried to visit the police station to clear his name when accusations linking him to his late friend’s death began to circulate.

“I have never received a message of invitation from the police; it is a big lie that I did,” Primeboy declared. “Before this issue of declaring me wanted sprang up, I had wanted to explain myself at the station after people started accusing me of killing Mohbad. The people I reached out to, including my lawyer, advised that I should wait for a police invitation rather than going there to explain myself. So it was a shock to see that the police had declared me wanted for N1 million to anyone who knew my whereabouts.”

Responding to questions about whether he was with Mohbad during his last show and whether they had a dispute, Primeboy acknowledged that they had disagreements but clarified that it stemmed from a misunderstanding he had with his wife while they were in the car together on the day of Mohbad’s Ikorodu show.

“He (Mohbad) was trying to exit the car when the issue between him and his wife escalated. But I stopped him, advising that it wasn’t safe for him to do so since Zlatan was still performing. He then told me to come down from the car, and I did. I could tell that he was badly hurt from the way he was reacting that day,” Primeboy added.

While in police custody, the singer questioned Mohbad’s wife for allegedly framing him in connection with the late singer’s death on the internet.
