Motorists Hails FG Over Kano-Daura-Kongolom Dualization

Road users en-route Kano-Daura-Kongolom highway have commended the federal government of Nigeria for earmaking huge amount of money for the Dualization of the road answering motorists many pleas.

The news of the award of the contract broken when the Honourable Minister of works and Housing Babatunde Raji Fashola told state house correspondents about the new development at the end of the recent Federal executive council meeting at the Aso Rock.

Motorists and other road users thanked the federal government for awarding the contract, in an interview with our correspondent, adding that “President Buhari have a listening ear and we hope that the Dualization works would be completed in a given time because Kano-Daura-Kongolom is becoming a threat to travellers everyday”

Speaking to Daybreak news, members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers(NURTW) Road Transport Employees Of Nigeria (REATEAN), National Association Of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), and Amalgamated Commercial Tricycle Association (Acomoran) praised president Buhari for approving the Dualization respectively.

Malam Aliyu Umar a lorry driver said that ” We hope that Dambatta Dam would be given special consideration during the Dualization in order to secure motorists from falling into the river due to the removal of the strong metal walls, because the cement built walls installed by FERMA cannot serve the purpose”. He lamented.

It could be recalled that on January, 28th, 2022, Daybreak News published a story of a call made by the motorists en-route Kano-Daura-Kongolom highway to the federal government to dualize the road as it is becoming a death trap.
