N400Million scandal: Military places GOC Hakeem Otiki under house arrest

Authorities of the Nigeria Military have placed Major General Hakeem Otiki, under house arrest after some soldiers carted away not less than N400 million placed under his watch.
Otiki, the immediate past General Officer Commanding (GOC), 8 Division, Sokoto was redeployed to Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) and is being detained in the Officers Mess until he can be moved to Abuja for interrogation by personnel from the Directorate of Military Intelligence (DMI), Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB), and Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police (NACMP).
Major General Okiti is said to under heavy guard by armed soldiers who are carefully screening his visitors.

According to earlier reports,Okiti detailed five soldiers to transport huge sums of money on July 11 but the five soldiers diverted the money from Sokoto to the Nigeria Army airstrip in Jaji, Kaduna State and shared it among themselves before disappearing, dropping rifles and uniforms as well as their mobile phones.
