NAF Airstrikes Eradicate Terrorists and Destroy Gun Trucks in Borno and Zamfara

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reported successful air operations conducted by the Air Components of Operations Hadin Kai and Hadarin Daji, resulting in the elimination of numerous terrorists in their hideouts across the theaters.

In a statement released by the Director of Public Relations and Information for NAF, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, it was revealed that the air component conducted air interdiction missions in the early hours of Saturday at a recently identified terrorists’ hideout near the Lake Chad region in Borno, specifically at Bukar Meram.

The airstrikes were deemed necessary as intelligence indicated that terrorists had relocated from Suwa to the Bukar Meram area, with the intent of launching attacks on ground troops and innocent civilians. The air strikes were authorized to neutralize these threats.

Following the air strikes, the feedback received indicated that the mission achieved its objectives, resulting in the neutralization of several terrorists. Additionally, over 40 motorcycles and six gun trucks used by the terrorists were destroyed.

In a similar operation, the Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji carried out air strikes on October 11th in the Sangeko axis of Maru Local Government Area in Zamfara. This action targeted a convoy of approximately 70 terrorists on motorcycles traveling from Kabaro towards Sangeko. The result was the neutralization of several terrorists, the destruction of their motorcycles, and injuries to others.

Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the Chief of the Air Staff, commended the professionalism and dedication of the Air Components involved. He emphasized the importance of supporting ground troops and encouraged them to remain focused and not become complacent, ensuring the safety and confidence of Nigerian citizens.
