The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), operating under the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), launched successful airstrikes on April 15, 2025, targeting key terrorist enclaves in the Sambisa region and Southern Tumbuns of Borno State.
According to NAF spokesperson Air Commodore Edward Ehimen Ejodame, the strikes were based on confirmed intelligence indicating the presence of high-value terrorist leaders. Surveillance had identified multiple structures—some powered by solar panels—actively used by the insurgents.
The first strike occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. in Kollaram, a well-known insurgent stronghold. “This operation followed detailed surveillance which confirmed the presence of top terrorist commanders,” Ejodame stated. The precision strike reportedly neutralized several fighters and disrupted critical infrastructure.
A second operation took place later in the day, around 3:55 p.m., in Arra, located within the Sambisa Forest. The airstrike was carried out after intelligence and real-time visuals revealed large gatherings of terrorist elements. Precision-guided munitions were used, leading to the destruction of targeted sites and hampering the group’s operations.
“These coordinated missions are part of an ongoing effort to degrade terrorist networks, dismantle their leadership, and destroy their hideouts throughout the country,” Ejodame emphasized. He reaffirmed NAF’s commitment to ensuring that no part of Nigeria remains a refuge for terrorists.
