From Leo Zuanke, Nassarawa

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State has issued a press statement on Wednesday Signed Otaru Douglas, State Publicity Secretary APC, Nasarawa State, alerting the public to the nefarious activities of a group called Concerned APC Stakeholders of Nasarawa State (CASNS).

The party emphasized that this group, led by an imaginary individual using fictitious names such as Alh. Yusuf Ibrahim or Alh. Saidu Ibrahim, has repeatedly engaged in offensive press statements aimed at denigrating respected leaders and creating security breaches in the state.

According to the APC, the CASNS is completely alien to the party, and it urged the public not to be deceived by their false claims. The party maintains a comprehensive list of stakeholders and support groups, and the aforementioned individual or group has never been affiliated with the party in any capacity.

The party particularly called on the media to exercise caution and refrain from publishing any statements originating from this criminal group. The CASNS has been labeled as merchants of violence and mischief makers who are exploiting the ongoing disagreements within the 7th Assembly for their own gain. The APC stated that such impostors should not be entertained or given any credibility by the general public.

Furthermore, “the party expressed concern over the group’s recent and continued attacks on revered leaders and institutions within the state, describing it as a direct invitation to threats and unrest. The party firmly denounced the audacious affront on the person and office of the Chief Judge of Nasarawa State, Her Lordship Justice Aisha Bashir Aliyu, which was contained in a purported petition to the National Judicial Council (NJC). While the APC refrained from taking sides on the issues raised in the petition, it strongly condemned the misuse of the party’s name in such a disparaging manner.”

The party deemed the group’s actions as politically and morally unacceptable. It emphasized that engaging in sub-judice discussions concerning matters already under the jurisdiction of eminent jurists amounted to political madness.

The APC therefore “called upon the security agencies to investigate the identity of the imaginary Alh. Yusuf Ibrahim and cautioned those instigating violence in the state to reconsider their actions, as the party would take decisive action against those with sinister motives.”

Rt Hon Ibrahim Balarabe was affirmed as the recognized Speaker of the Nasarawa State 7th Assembly unless otherwise determined by the courts. “The party warned individuals supporting Hon Daniel Ogah Ogazi, who they claim are advocating for illegality, to rethink their position and withdraw their support.”

The APC, while distancing itself from the activities of the CASNS, urged the Chief Judge of Nasarawa State and the NJC, to whom the purported petition was addressed, to disregard it entirely.

The party called for a thorough investigation into the matter, “considering it as a criminal enterprise, and emphasized the need to punish those responsible for their involvement in the misuse of the law.” It added.
