Nasarawa Speakership Race: Speaker Balarabe have support of not less than 16 lawmakers presently, Omadefu

The Chairman, Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Hon. Muhammed Adamu Amadefu has said that not less than 16 members – elect of the House as of today Monday have declared their support for the re-election of Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi the current Speaker of the House.

Omadefu ( APC- Keana) stated this while featuring on Option FM Akwanga today Monday.

He said that 16 members – elect cutting across political parties are supporting the re-election of the Speaker due to his all inclusive leadership and track records of achievements in the 5th and 6th Assembly respectively.

” I want to tell you today that Rt Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly have the support of not less than 16 members – elect so far.

” They are willing to cast their votes for Rt. Hon Balarabe due to his track records of achievements.

” The Speaker has stabilized the House and he has achieved a lot. He has recieved local, national and international awards because of his achievements,” he said .

Omadefu also said that the Speaker has maintained good working relationship with the executive arm which has brought peace, progress and development across the State.

The lawmaker added that all the three lawmakers that are vying for the position of Speakership are qualified, adding that Balarabe is more qualified for the survival of the legislative institution in the State.

” The campaign is ongoing , we are praying for the survival of the institution, that is what I feel is more paramount.

” Speaker Balarabe has done well and still doing well as he is a dogged leader and a leader per excellence.

” Under his watch, no House of Assembly in the country has the records of many bills passed and resolutions the way Nasarawa State House of Assembly did” he added.

He called on the people of the State to support Balarabe for Speakership in order to enjoy more dividends of democracy and have faith in the Assembly Institution.

On the just concluded retreat for lawmakers in Jos, he emphasized that it has prepared members especially the new ones on the task ahead and on the basic legislative knowledge ahead of the inauguration of the 7th Assembly in the State next month.
