It was a joyous moment for Lafia LGA U13 team as they won the second edition of the Nasarawa State U13 Inter-Primary School Tournament at the Lafia City Stadium.

The game which was witnessed by the Executive Governor of the state, Engr. Abdullahi Sule and top government officials saw the Lafia boys edge their opponents 3-0 through the lottery of penalties after the game ended goalless in regulation time.

Earlier, Karu LGA U13 team defeated Doma LGA U13 to win the losers final.

In his speech the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi Sule encouraged the boys to be continue to work hard to as to make it in life through sports.

Twelve out of thirteen local government areas partook in the second edition as the Governor rewarded all the participating teams with some monetary rewards.

For emerging champions Lafia LGA got the sum of ₦700,000 while the duo of Akwanga LGA and Karu LGA both got the sums of ₦500,000 and ₦400,000 for coming second and third respectively.

The remaining nine team got the sum of ₦200,000 each all from the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State.

For individual awards, Destiny Udoh Emem of Karu LGA won the Most Valuable Player As Jibrin Yahaya and Hamisu Zanwa both of were voted as the Best Goal Keeper and Coach of the tournament.

Emmanuel Ihediegwu of Karu LGA with 5 goals won the golden boot.

The Nasarawa State U13 Inter-Primary School Tournament is the pet project of the Aliyu Bello Foundation proudly sported by the Nasarawa State Ministry For Youths and Sports Development, Nasarawa State Football Association, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftency Affairs, Ministry of Women Affairs and others.
