By Israel Adamu, Jos

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), Dr. Cyril Yiltsen Tsenyil, on Tuesday led the management team of the Commission on a courtesy visit to the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) at the Treasury House, Abuja, to explore areas of strategic collaboration aimed at boosting infrastructural and socio-economic development in the North Central region.

In his remarks, Dr. Tsenyil expressed appreciation to the Accountant General of the Federation, Mr. Shamseldeen Ogunjimi, for the warm reception and his unwavering support towards the successful take-off of the NCDC, which was established a few months ago to spearhead development initiatives across the region.

He reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and results-oriented governance, stressing that the North Central zone remains pivotal to Nigeria’s unity, stability, and productivity.

“The North Central region plays a crucial role in Nigeria’s national development. We are determined to deliver impactful interventions in sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, entrepreneurship, youth empowerment, and post-conflict stabilization,” Dr. Tsenyil said. “Our partnership with the Treasury House will ensure financial efficiency and long-term sustainability of our projects across the six states and the FCT.”

In his response, the Accountant General of the Federation, Mr. Shamseldeen Ogunjimi, commended the NCDC for its proactive vision and assured the Commission of the Treasury’s continuous support.

He emphasized the importance of collaboration between both institutions to strengthen financial oversight mechanisms and ensure that all NCDC initiatives adhere to national standards of accountability, transparency, and prudence.

Mr. Ogunjimi further pledged to work closely with the Commission to ensure that its developmental interventions reach the targeted beneficiaries, aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The meeting underscored the shared resolve of both institutions to enhance fiscal management, promote regional stability, and fast-track inclusive growth across the North Central region.
