The North Central Development Commission (NCDC) has initiated a stronger partnership with the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) to fast-track infrastructural and socio-economic development across the North Central region.
Leading the NCDC delegation on a courtesy visit to the Treasury House in Abuja on Tuesday, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Cyril Yiltsen Tsenyil, emphasized the need for institutional cooperation to ensure effective funding and execution of regional development projects.
Dr. Tsenyil commended the Accountant General of the Federation, Mr. Shamseldeen Ogunjimi, for his warm reception and continued support for the young Commission, which was established only a few months ago.
“The North Central region remains pivotal to Nigeria’s stability and productivity,” he stated. “Our focus is to deliver transparent, accountable, and results-oriented development across critical sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, entrepreneurship, youth empowerment, and post-conflict stabilization.”
He noted that collaboration with the Treasury House would enhance financial discipline and ensure sustainability of NCDC programmes across the six states of the region and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
In his response, Mr. Ogunjimi lauded the NCDC’s developmental vision and pledged the Treasury’s full support to ensure the Commission’s financial operations remain consistent with national standards of accountability, transparency, and prudence.
“We will continue to work closely with the Commission to guarantee that its intervention projects achieve their objectives in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” the Accountant General assured.
Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the financial and institutional framework necessary to promote inclusive growth and sustainable development in the North Central zone.
