NCoS: 25 Officers bows out of service, 9 dismissed

No fewer than 34 senior personnel of the Nigerian Correctional Service(NCS) have been penalised for acts of indiscipline and misconduct, The Nation has learnt.

It was gathered the Service dismissed nine officers and retired 25 others compulsorily for offences considered as inimical to standard practices.

The Public Relations Officer of the Service, Umar Abubakar said in Abuja that four other personnel were issued with letters of warning.

Abubakar quoted the Controller-General of the Service, Mr Haliru Nababa confirming development, saying the decision was approved by the Civil Defence, Corrections, Fire and Immigration Board.

Nababa said the service would not relent in taking disciplinary measures against any personnel who failed to measure up to the Standard Operating Procedure of the Service.

While the CG warned that there would be no room for indolence and acts of  indiscipline in the Service, he assured that those who performed creditably would reward in line with the rules of engagement of the Service.
