NCPC Boss encourages staff to lean on God

By Joyce Rem- Babayeju

Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC, Rev Dr Yakubu Pam has encouraged staff of the Commission to cast their burdens on the shoulder of God.
He gave the charge on 17th December,2021 at the Commission’s Christmas Carol event held at the NCPC Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.
In his exaltation taken from the book of Isaiah, chapter 9 verse 6 to 7 which vividly explains the real mission of Christ on earth and who he is.
Citing the Bible passage which read , “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace”, Rev Pam explained that the purpose of Christ on earth was clearly captured in the scriptural reference.
He stressed that God is a God of progression who wants the best for us and assured the staff that God had a heavenly agenda for them, but they must learn to cast their burdens on his shoulder.

He noted that God allows people to pass through challenges in order to strengthen tjem.
He said,” God never works with any person who has not passed through life challenges”. He added, ” you cannot actualise your destiny without a testimony.”

Rev. Pam stressed the need for the Commission to celebrate and thank God for seeing the Commission through year 2021, adding that if not for the Lord , the success story of the 2020 maiden Pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Jordan would not have been possible.

He was optimistic that through the work force, the Commission would become a reference point among other agencies of government.

Rev Pam advised the staff to show love to one another to shun any act that might divide their unity and to shun unhealthy competition and rivalry in the workplace.
The Christmas Carol was characterised with various renditions by the NCPC Choirs decked in fantastically beautiful outfits depicting the mood of the season. Lessons were read from the Holy Bible by different staff drawn from various Departments and Units.

The NCPC 2021 Christmas Carol was graced by the Board Member of the Commission, Rev. Dr. Jida Gelengu who represented the North East Geo-political Zone, and all the Directors and Management Staff.
